Lineup

All exhibitors must be able to exhibit his/her animal without the assistance of an adult or older exhibitor in the ring. Showmanship will begin at 8:30am on Saturday September 7, 2024. Exhibitors must pay a $15.00 entry fee for showmanship. Showmanship will be shown from the youngest to oldest and broken into heats by grade as follows:PreK-1st grade, 2nd-4th grade, 5th-8th grade, 9th-11th grade & 12th grade.

Entry fee: $20.00

Registered and Commercial Breeding Gilt Show: Purebred Gilt Show (Duroc, Hampshire, Yorkshire, AOB) All pure gilts must be registered with a proper registration certificate from the National Swine Registry for their breed. Purebred entries must show the exhibitor’s name or exhibitor’s family farm as the current owner on the registration paper. Registered breeding gilts do not have to have ear tags, but must be ear notched according to their registration certificate. Purebred Entries must be farrowed in February, March, or April 2024. Purebred Champions and Reserves will be chosen for each breed(Duroc, Hampshire, Yorkshire, AOB) and will compete for Supreme Overall Breeding Gilt Champion and Reserve Overall Breeding Gilt Champion & 3rd Overall Breeding Gilt Champion. Commercial Breeding gilts shall not weigh more than 325 lbs. Overweight pigs will be disqualified and no refunds will be given.

Market Hog Show: Barrows and gilts will show together. Divisions in the market hog shows will be divided evenly among the class as far as possible. The purebred barrow division will consist of Duroc, Hampshire, Yorkshire, and AOB. If there are not enough entries for a purebred division, they will show as crossbred market hogs. Final decisions will be made by the show committee based on entries. Division winners will compete for Grand Champion honors. The judge will select Grand, Reserve, and 3rd Overall Champions. All market hog entries must have a clean, readable ear tag in place. Pigs must be tagged before check in. Market Hogs shall not weigh more than 280lbs. Overweight pigs will be disqualified and no refunds will be given.
